Guide to living in El Paraiso, Estepona
Located on the New Golden Mile between San Pedro Alcántara and Estepona, El Paraiso encompasses three main urbanisations – El Paraiso Alto, El Paraiso Medio and Paraiso Barronal. Conceived as an exclusive development of villas, townhouses and apartments, development of El Paraiso began in the 1970s under strict density regulations that are still adhered to today. The result is a highly desirable and attractive expanse of well built, quality residential and holiday accommodation serviced by a good selection of amenities.
Golf in El Paraiso
Central to everything is El Paraiso Golf Club. Its championship course, designed by Gary Player, was one of the first to open on the Costa del Sol in 1973. The club’s innovative approach to encourage visitors and seasonal players has ensured that golf in El Paraiso has remained successful whatever the economic climate. From its traditionally styled clubhouse you can enjoy a snack or superb three-course meal while watching players tackle the 18th green. Known locally as the friendly club, El Paraiso Golf Club members enjoy a wide range of competitions, events, dinners, away trips and social occasions—even some amateur dramatics!

Bowling in El Paraiso is also very popular. The Benavista Bowls Club has a professional six-rink carpet green and a busy tournament calendar. Properties in El Paraiso
Villas in El Paraiso are the most common property type in the area. Plot sizes are generally in excess of 1,000m2 while the villas themselves stretch from small bungalows to ten bedroom mansions, surrounded by landscaped gardens, inviting swimming pools and mature trees.
